Welcome to Bel-Air Riding Club!
Welcome to Bel-Air Riding Club! Our base is at Bel-Air Hotel and Equestrian Centre in Ashford, Co. Wicklow, where we have access to all the facilities for training, shows, fun and games. The hotel bar also serves a great breakfast at week-ends, and it can be hard enough to drag the non-horsey family members out of the place.
Some of us keep our own horses, others enjoy horses from Bel-Air. We like doing well at shows, of course, but to be honest we are just as much about the social fun with horses. Check out the other areas of this site to see what we are up to. We hope to see you soon at one of our events, with or without your horse. Welcome!
Updates in Events
Lots of new events added to our Events list. Mini/Midi/Maxi, SJ Training dates with Lyn and Dressage Training with Stephen. Slaney Cup and in house Summer Show dates added.

The Association of Irish Riding Clubs is to phase out the use of riding hats with the standalone (BS) EN1384 standard from next year. This follows the decision of the European Union to withdrawn the hat standard from the Official Journal of the European Union. A.I.R.C. will permit (BS) EN1384 hats in 2015 but not thereafter. All hats will be retagged in 2016. If you are buying a new hat, please make sure that it has the PAS 015 standard mark or ASTM F1163 or Snell 2001 or AS/NZS 3838 and is Kitemarked, as the EN1384 standard alone will not be approved in 2016. Approved hat standards include the following: - EN 1384 (it is strongly recommended that it is prefixed by BS (British Standard) This standard on its own will be phased out at the end of 2015 after which it will be no longer permitted for A.I.R.C. activities. - PAS 015 (1998) - ASTM F1163 with SEI mark, - Snell E2001 - AS/NZS 3838: 2006 with SAI global mark

NATIONAL AIRC EVENTS - IMPORTANT INFO
We have received some important information from AIRC. ABOUT ALL NATIONAL AIRC SHOWS: A. All HORSES PARTICIPATING AT NATIONAL EVENTS HAVE TO BE REGISTERED WITH AIRC. There is no fee for this, but it is mandatory. If you want to do the national show juming championships 19th July, you need to get your horse registered ASAP. (Postal entries close Fri 3rd July. Online entries close Fri 10th July.) It seems the horse has to be registered BEFORE you can make your entry. B. ONLINE ENTRIES - Starting with the Show Jumping Championships in July, entries to national events can be made online on the AIRC website. It is also possible to enter through the club secretary on a special form, available from the AIRC website. ALL RIDING CLUB SHOWS: A reminder that all riders must make their own entry at the show, and present their ridingclub card on the day. It is not ok for one person to bring several riders' cards and enter everybody.
Protect Your Horse-Box Register it!
There is a simple way to protect your Ifor Williams horse-box, and make life a bit more difficult for people who steal horse-boxes to sell them on. Ifor Williams keep a register of their boxes; who owns them and whether they are reported stolen. To keep this register up-to-date, you need to do the following: BEFORE YOU BUY A SECOND-HAND BOX Take the serial number of the box. Phone Ifor Williams to check that it is not reported stolen. AFTER YOU BUY A NEW OR SECOND-HAND BOX Register it in your own name. Keep the number safe, so you know it even if the box isn't there. IF YOUR BOX IS STOLEN Report it stolen to Ifor Williams. PHONE NUMBER: Call Ifor Williams on 00441490412626. Ask for Customer Care.
